Macro-Balanced

What does "macro-balanced" mean?

Macronutrients are nutrients that your body needs in large amounts to function optimally. The three main macronutrients are carbohydrates, protein, and fat. They are considered essential nutrients, meaning your body either cannot make them or cannot make enough of them.

Our suggested macro balance is:

  • 50% Carbs
  • 25% Fats
  • 25% Protein

Carbohydrates are essential for quick fueling energy and to avoid the afternoon energy crash. By eating 50% of your calories from carbohydrate you will simultaneously fuel your body while teaching it to burn body fat for additional energy. The process will help you increase lean muscle tissue, lower body fat percentage, and improve your endurance.

Protein is a necessity for peak performance. Without enough protein your body is susceptible to injury, illness, and muscular breakdown. As an athlete or active person, you should eat 25% of your calories from protein. Specifically design each meal and snack throughout the day with 25% protein and you will reach your protein goal for the day.

Healthy Fats are essential for optimal health. They accelerate base metabolism, fight free radicals, and help transport vitamins and minerals for a healthy body. Keep your healthy fat intake to 25% of your daily calories and you will supply your body with the ideal amount for improved health!
